## What this lock does

The TechGuard Smart Door Lock Pro is a high-security multi-point smart mortise lock built for perimeter entrance doors, security steel gates, executive residences, and commercial facilities. Constructed from high-tensile zinc alloy, it features integrated multi-point locking deadbolts, a built-in touch doorbell, and an interior mechanical privacy double-lock.

You unlock the door using:
- High-precision biometric semiconductor fingerprint sensor
- Backlit anti-peep digital touch keypad
- Encrypted contactless RFID keycards (13.56 MHz IC cards)
- High-security mechanical backup key
- Scheduled and one-time cloud guest PINs from the TechGuard app

In the TechGuard app you can:
- Monitor lock status (Locked, Unlocked, Double-Locked)
- View battery level and network connectivity
- Receive instant push notifications when a visitor presses the lock doorbell button
- Generate, schedule, and revoke temporary guest PINs
- Review full chronological access logs including member credentials and timestamps
- Engage or disengage passage mode
- Configure notification rules across push, email, and SMS channels

Important operation notice: The deadbolts are driven mechanically by the outside and inside handles. You cannot throw or retract the deadbolts remotely through a mobile command. Master fingerprints, owner PINs, and RFID cards are enrolled directly on the lock keypad menu.

## What you need

- The TechGuard mobile app on iOS or Android (native build)
- A dedicated 2.4 GHz home Wi-Fi network (5 GHz networks are not supported)
- 4 fresh AA alkaline batteries (Duracell or Energizer recommended)
- Wooden, composite, or armored steel door with thickness between 40 mm and 110 mm
- Door mortise depth of at least 95 mm and backset clearance of 60 mm

## Setup and pairing

Pairing requires a direct Wi-Fi SoftAP connection between your phone and the lock.

1. Open the TechGuard app, tap **Add Device**, and select **Smart Door Lock**.
2. Enter your home 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network name and password. Do not input the lock setup hotspot name.
3. On the lock keypad, wake the touch surface, press `*` then `#`, enter your master passcode, and select **Network Settings -> AP / Hotspot Mode**. The lock announces "Setup mode" and begins broadcasting its AP hotspot.
4. On your mobile phone, open system Wi-Fi settings and connect to **SL-xxxx** or **SmartLife-xxxx**. Ignore the "No internet connection" prompt and tap **Keep Connected**.
5. Return to the TechGuard app immediately and tap **I have joined - Continue**. The setup hotspot remains open for approximately 90 seconds.
6. The app transmits the home Wi-Fi profile to the lock. Rejoin your home Wi-Fi network and tap **I am back on Wi-Fi**.
7. Name the lock (such as "Main Gatehouse" or "Front Entrance") and tap **Save Device**.
8. Touch the keypad once immediately after saving so the lock confirms its cloud registration token before sleeping.

### If pairing fails

| Symptom | Resolution |
|---------|------------|
| Wrong password message | Re-enter your home Wi-Fi password. Verify that 2.4 GHz is active on your router. |
| Setup hotspot disappeared | Re-enter AP mode on the keypad and tap **I have joined** immediately after connecting. |
| Lock missing on Home screen | Navigate to **Add Device -> Already in cloud** to complete device setup. |
| Phone disconnects from setup network | Turn off mobile data (LTE/5G) on your phone during the pairing process to prevent network hopping. |

## Operating the lock at the door

- **Unlocking with fingerprint:** Place enrolled finger firmly onto the handle biometric sensor. Upon verification, the perimeter ring turns green and emits an unlock tone. Depress handle within 5 seconds.
- **Unlocking with PIN:** Touch keypad to illuminate display. Enter your 6 to 8 digit code followed by `#`. Anti-peep scrambling lets you type arbitrary numbers before and after your true passcode (example: `9182` + `MASTER_PIN` + `5421#`).
- **Unlocking with RFID card:** Present registered IC card to the card sensor zone on the keypad face.
- **Locking from outside:** Pull the exterior handle upward after closing the door. All primary deadbolts project fully into the door frame.
- **Locking from inside:** Pull the interior handle upward to project deadbolts.
- **Inside privacy double-lock:** Turn the interior thumbturn knob clockwise. When engaged, the lock enters double-locked state: all exterior user credentials (except master emergency keys) are locked out. The TechGuard app displays a Double-Locked badge.
- **Doorbell chime:** Press the bell icon on the keypad. A local chime sounds, and an instant doorbell notification dispatches to the TechGuard app.
- **Mechanical key override:** Slide the bottom security cap, insert the physical key, and rotate 90 degrees to manually retract all latches and deadbolts.
- **Emergency power jumpstart:** If batteries drain completely, attach a 5V USB-C power bank to the bottom port to energize the keypad and enter your PIN.

## The lock screen in TechGuard

The lock console provides:
- **Status chips:** Locked, Unlocked, Double-Locked, and Passage Mode Active.
- **Battery meter:** Current battery percentage.
- **Connection indicator:** Online, Standby (normal power-saving sleep), or Offline.
- **Remote unlock request banner:** If a visitor keys `9#` at the door, an unlock request countdown (up to 90 seconds) displays in the activity feed.
- **Access log:** Detailed timestamps and user methods (Fingerprint #1, Keypad, IC Card #2, Guest PIN, App Log).

---

## Guest PIN management

Create temporary or single-use access codes directly from the mobile app:

1. Tap **Create Guest PIN**.
2. Assign a contact name (such as "Weekend Guest" or "Facility Inspector").
3. Set a 7-digit numeric PIN.
4. Select validity window: 1 hour, 6 hours, 24 hours, or 72 hours.
5. Check **One-time PIN** if access should terminate immediately upon first use.
6. Tap Save. The PIN syncs to the lock cloud controller and is ready for use once verified in the Guest Vault.

Revoke any guest PIN instantly from the Guest Vault.

## Security alerts and tamper protection

- **Prying / tamper alarm:** A mechanical anti-pry switch behind the exterior escutcheon triggers a high-decibel local siren and dispatches an emergency tamper notification if physical removal is attempted.
- **Repeated invalid credential lockout:** 5 successive incorrect fingerprint, PIN, or card attempts trigger a 90-second keypad lockout and an unauthorized entry alert.
- **Duress alarm:** If an enrolled duress fingerprint is scanned at the door, an urgent duress alert dispatches silently to designated emergency contacts.
- **Low battery warnings:** Audible alert sounds on every handle operation when power drops below 20%, along with repeated app notifications.

## What the app does not do

- Motorized deadbolt projection or retraction from the phone
- Remote video feed or two-way audio intercom
- Door position contact sensing (door open or closed)
- Enrolling biometric fingerprints or RFID cards remotely

---

## Maintenance

- Replace all 4 AA alkaline batteries when battery level drops below 20%. Always use matched 1.5V industrial alkaline cells.
- Clean keypad glass and fingerprint reader with a soft dry cloth. Do not apply water, detergents, or chemical solvents.
- Annually check handle tension and frame strike alignment to ensure deadbolts project smoothly without binding.
